Center Chairman attended International Forum on Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area

October 24, 2019 - Mr. Joseph Chan, our Center Chairman, attended International Forum on Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area at Ocean Park Marriott Hotel. This forum was co-hosted by The Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China and The Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PRC in the HKSAR and supported by The Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, China Center for International Economic Exchanges, Our Hong Kong Foundation and The Better Hong Kong Foundation, having brought more than 300 political and business elites. 

 

The forum was started with Opening Remarks given by The Hon Mrs. Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor, GBM, GBS, The Chief Executive of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and H.E. Xie Feng, Commissioner of Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. The Opening Remarks was followed by Keynote Speech given by The Hon C.Y. Leung, GBM, GBS, JP, Vice Chairperson of the National Committee of Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, Former Chief Executive of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region; H.E. Somkid Jatusripitak, Deputy Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand; H.E. Ma Xingrui, Governor of Guangdong Province; H.E. Luo Wen, Vice Chairman of National Development and Reform Commission of the People’s Republic of China; H.E. Leong Vai Tac, Secretary for Economy and Finance, Representative of Chief Executive of Macao Special Administrative Region; H.E. Li Xiaolin, President of Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries. 2 Panel Discussion Sessions were held afterwards. The theme of first Panel Discussion Session was “New Platform for Win-Win Cooperation” and was hosted by Ms Liu Xin, Senior Host and Journalist of CGTN. The theme of second Panel Discussion Session was “New Endeavour under “One Country, Two Systems”” and was hosted by Professor Lawrence J. Lau, GBS, JP, Former Vice-Chancellor and President of Chinese University of Hong Kong.
