In 26th April 2018, Silk Road Economic Development Research Center organized the Belt & Road Lunch Talk Series II in Hong Kong Bankers Club and about 50 guests from Political and Business field attended.

Under the development of Belt and Road, the corporates face Islamic finance while working with Belt and Road countries that there are some restrictions under Islamic rules. Therefore, our center invited Mr. Muhammad Kamran Chaudhry, the partner of Lai & Chaudhry Solicitors LLP, to share the differences and advantages between Islamic finance and traditional finance and elaborate the future development of Islamic finance in Hong Kong. As Islamic finance is new to most of Hong Kong corporates, lots of guests discussed with the speaker during Q&A session.
