Focus on Central Asia Conference & Launching Ceremony of Seminar Series on Silk Road Strategy

Together with the Chinese Business Centre of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, the Silk Road Economic Development Research Centre proudly launched our seminar series on the silk road strategy on 9th April. Not only “Focus On Central Asia” was the very first event of the series, it was also the very first conference held in Hong Kong regarding to the OBOR.

Secretary General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization , Mr. Dimitry Mezentsev, and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tajikistan to the People’s Republic of China, Mr. Rashid Alimov, were among our noble speakers.

Over a hundred people attended the event, including government representatives, professionals as well as business leaders coming from more than five different countries. As the title of the conference had suggested, attendants were able to grasp a deeper insight about Central Asia, and to learn about opportunities in Central Asia regarding to the OBOR. Topics discussed included local business environment, logistics in Central Asia, roles of private investment and banks, as well as information of individual countries.
